From the basement to life in the cloud

Business Central (formerly Microsoft Dynamics NAV) has become a super ERP base platform, and at the same time an example of software that has gone from the server down in the burglarized basement to the cloud. Business Central Property Management

In the past, installing software meant a technician who came by with a storage medium. Later, online assistance became prevalent, but it was still difficult to install new software.

Microsoft has a company that, with large investments, seeks to promote innovation and, consequently, the competitive ability of companies.

The customer is always up to date and upgrade projects are now a thing of the past if you choose the cloud as the installation platform.

Dynamics Property is an example of such a system. It is property management software that runs on Microsoft's, serves delivered through the Internet, and can be downloaded directly through AppSource.

On all platforms and devices

Business Central is run through a browser and runs on all platforms and in principle on all devices. That is, you can now run a new "Dynamics NAV " on your Mac computer!

However, it must be said that certain screenshots are not optimized for mobile phones. For example, it would be obvious to run a timesheet on a mobile phone, but Business Central will indicate that the draft requires a higher resolution, but most screenshots run perfectly on both an Android phone and an iPhone. However, the best result is obtained by using a tablet or something with a higher resolution.

New platform with known feature box

There are many additional solutions for Business Central, there are currently no Danish systems for property management for Business Central on AppSource. However, Dynamics Property is working on an advanced solution that fully matches the old players in the market regarding flexibility feature set. The aforementioned is characterized by the fact that they – just like Dynamics Property – have their own financial management system.

Property management system will be released spring 2022

The Dynamics Property solution for property management is expected to be released in the spring of 2022 and can be downloaded from Microsoft AppSource directly from Business Central.

Test Drive

It is possible to download a trial version of Business Central and add a supplement solution – just to try the add-on solution. The trial solution can then be removed again if you do not feel the solution covers the need.

Dynamics Property can be downloaded and tried for free for 30 days. Since it is also able to download a version of Business Central, it is at no great cost to test run the solution.

Customizations should be supported by test scripts

Navision's old strength was that the company could adjust optimize its own business processes. The downside was that the company remained locked in an old version, as it was complex (implied "expensive"), to make updates.

Business Central remedied this by keeping customizations separate from the base system. Best practice, however, is to make automated tests for its own processes, so that the company can be sure that the "logic" works as intended as updates arrive.
